DVT. What You Should Know

DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is when a blood clot forms in the leg vein. It can cause swelling, redness and pain in the leg. It is usually treated with 20-30 mmHg or 30-40 mmHg compression hose.
It may happen sitting in a cramped position during a long flight (hence the nickname “economy class syndrome”. Support hosiery can prevent this, and clinical studies have been done to confirm this.
